Palmetto Expressway

Palmetto Expressway is 9 miles long with two express lanes in each direction from West Flagler Street to NW 154th Street. Palmetto Express connects directly to the I-75 express lanes in Broward County. Palmetto Express Lanes opened to traffic in August 2019.

    Vehicle Eligibility

    Only two-axle vehicles are permitted. Trucks with three or more axles are not allowed.

    Vehicles must have an active SunPass or another interoperable transponder.

    Transit buses, school buses and vanpools are allowed, but they must be registered and renewed annually for an exemption. Click here for more info.

    Tolling Method

    Static Tolling

    The toll rate in the express lanes is set at a specific amount that does not change. A static toll rate is not affected by express lanes traffic or the time of day.

    You may enter Northbound Palmetto Express:

       North of SW 8th Street / Tamiami Trail

       North of NW 25th Street

       North of NW 74th Street

    You may exit Northbound Palmetto Express:

       Direct Connection to 75 Express

       North of SR 924 / Gratigny Parkway

    You may enter Southbound Palmetto Express:

       South of 154th Street / Miami Lakes Drive

       Direct Connection from 75 Express

    You may exit Southbound Palmetto Express:

       South of US 27 / Okeechobee Road

       South of NW 36th Street

       South of SW 8th Street / Tamiami Trail
