I-595

595 Express is 9.5 miles long and consists of three tolled, reversible express lanes from the I-75 / Sawgrass Expressway interchange to west of the I-95 interchange in central Broward County. The express lanes opened to traffic in March 2014. The reversible lanes are typically open on weekdays to eastbound traffic between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. and for westbound drivers between 2 p.m. and 2 a.m. The express lanes are normally closed between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. for routine maintenance. On weekends, the express lanes are normally open in the eastbound direction only.

    Vehicle Eligibility

    Only two-axle vehicles are permitted. Trucks with three or more axles are not allowed.

    Vehicles must have an active SunPass or another interoperable transponder.

    Transit buses, school buses and vanpools are allowed, but they must be registered and renewed annually for an exemption. Click here for more info.

    Tolling Method

    Dynamic

    The toll rate will vary based on the volume of traffic in the express lanes. The rate increases as traffic builds in the express lanes and decreases as traffic reduces.
